Syra Coffee is one of Barcelona's biggest specialty coffee companies, with its own roastery and coffee shops across Spain. To support its baristas and streamline operations, we redesigned Syra’s custom POS system. The goal was to simplify the workflow and create a faster, smoother experience during peak hours.

The project included integrating the Point of Sales with Syra’s new app, allowing baristas to scan customers, track orders, and sync the digital Shot Card.

The Challenge

To understand pain points, we interviewed baristas and observed their workflow in real time. The found out that the previous POS slowed down baristas with unnecessary steps in the ordering flow also Syra planned to digitalize the Shot Card, so the POS needed to be designed to integrate with it. Here are the key challenges we set out to solve in this project:

The Shot Card was only physical before, so the POS couldn’t recognize or manage it. We needed to adapt the Shot Card to work together with the app and fit into the barista flow.

Our redesign brings key actions, applying discounts and selecting payment methods, into a single, streamlined view within the order process. By reducing unnecessary steps and simplifying navigation, the new POS makes service faster for busy baristas.

Discounts and payment options now appear right beside the order preview, so baristas can quickly apply a discount and complete the transaction, all from one place.

Personalization for Baristas

Baristas can now reorder items with a simple drag and drop.
