Project Overview
Papelito is based on the classic party game where players write down characters or phrases on slips of paper and take turns guessing them through clues, single-word hints, and charades. For this project, our goal was to bring the fun and spontaneous feel of the original game to mobile, focusing on a playful look and clear, simple navigation.

The Challenge
The main challenge was to translate the energy and chaos of the classic party game into a mobile format, without losing its playful spirit.

Defining the concept
We built a moodboard to define the visual direction, choosing potential colors, styles, and inspiration that matched the playful spirit of Papelito.

Building the UI Styleguide
A clear styleguide helped us standardize buttons, icons, and typography, making the interface consistent and easy to use.

Designing the Final Screens
We applied our styles to the actual game screens, adapting layouts to the game flow and rounds for every team

The Solution
Defining the concept
We wanted Papelito’s visual direction to feel playful, so we went mostly with primary colors, they’re bold, instantly recognizable, and help set an upbeat mood. Simple vintage-inspired illustrations, like hands making gestures, connect directly to the charades and mimic rounds and reinforce the game’s social, energetic style.
To bring a sense of nostalgia to the digital game, we centered our concept around the familiar feel of classic card games.

The Solution
Building the UI Styleguide
The Papelito logo is designed to evoke the spirit of the classic party game. Featuring a "P" set against a ripped piece of paper, it visually hints at the slips players use to write their characters or clues. The name “Papelito” means “little paper” in Spanish, capturing both the essence and playful energy of how the game begins, inviting users instantly into the experience.
For the color palette, we chose bold, primary colors inspired by the iconic UNO card game. These vivid reds, yellows, and blues not only create a fun, high-contrast visual atmosphere but also help reinforce the excitement and social vibe at the heart of Papelito.

The Solution
Designing the Final Screens
To ensure a playful and intuitive experience, we implemented our established styles, color palette, iconography, and typography, across all Papelito game screens. Each screen’s layout was carefully adapted to the specific game round (such as clue-giving, guessing, or miming), so the UI supports the team’s progression and dynamic interaction.
By tailoring navigation and visual emphasis for each stage, we made sure the interface guides players clearly, keeps the energy up, and simplifies team play.
